Description of your background
I have worked in the telecommunications industry for over 13 years. I have travelled all around the world and seen all kinds of beautiful places, as well as 3rd world countries. I have worked in office buildings, refineries, and all sorts of offshore facilities.
What does a typical day in your role look like?
A typical day would be traveling to the designated heliport and loading up tools and equipment to carry out the offshore installation scopes. I will either travel via helicopter or transfer vessel to the platform or drill-ship. Once offshore, I start the necessary work to install hardware and connections to provide customers with reliable connectivity.
Learning and implementing new technologies is always very exciting. Above all, it is thrilling to see the difference connectivity can make for all the crew and their lives offshore. It really highlights the value of the work we do. A great example was the Stones Turitella project, where we were able to provide really fast internet for the entire crew- this was a real game-changer for them as they were no longer isolated and could now stay in contact with their loved ones while away.
What is one of your favorite memories at Tampnet? One of my favorite memories would be visiting our Headquarters in Norway and hanging out with co-workers after work.
