(Houston May 6 th, 2019) Tampnet, the operator of the largest offshore high capacity communication network in the world, serving more than 350 oil & gas platforms, FPSOs, exploration rigs and maritime vessels, announced today the promotion of Hector J. Maytorena to President and Managing Director, North America, effective May 1st , 2019.

As President and Managing Director, Hector is responsible for the execution of Tampnet Inc.’s North American business plan, with particular focus on commercializing the industry’s first 4G / 5G-enabled LTE network in the Gulf of Mexico. Based in Houston, he will report directly to Tampnet CEO, Per Helge Svensson.

“Hector joined Tampnet in 2018 as the Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Americas, and in addition to his extensive industry experience, he exhibited exemplary performance in the role. We expect this same level of dedication and commitment to be applied in his new role as the leader to our key North America division”, said Per Helge Svensson.

Hector has over twenty years of experience in the remote communications industry, holding various executive leadership, sales and marketing leadership, and business development leadership roles with increasing responsibility at RigNet, Inc. and Stratos Global Corporation’s Broadband Division. He holds an MBA from Tulane’s A.B. Freeman School of Business.
