The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for management and execution of the engineering work performed primarily in the Gulf of Mexico projects, but will also contribute in other parts of the organization on an as need basis. This will include engineering related to mechanical, structural, electrical and telecommunications systems in close cooperation with other engineering and architectural staff within the company. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining a high standard for engineering deliverables for both, internal to company and external customers.

Main Responsibility and Tasks

  • Produce engineering work packages, drawings, documentation and solutions for use by Oil & Gas operators’ as well as construction crews to install telecom infrastructure offshore
  • Apply appropriate engineering principles, best practice and know how, what and when there are key engineering inputs and outputs supposed to be applied
  • Know, learn, understand and apply customer technical requirements and apply to deliverables which are being produced
  • Liaise with peers and stakeholders such as subject matter experts, other disciplines to deliver an integrated and correct solution to customers
  • Make logical, systematic and rational judgements based on relevant information to secure best solutions, knowing when to escalate issues to line management and other peers/key stakeholders
  • Collaborate and knowledge share with the other technology verticals to further develop and improve existing LTE solution for a continuous improvement from Project Quality, i.e. interaction with the LoS, Optical, LTE and MPLS verticals
  • Computer literate, with an appreciation of any specialist packages related to the specific role/discipline – e.g. ACAD, MS Visio, MS Project, MS Excel etc
  • Closely follow up offshore and onshore installation campaigns from definition through execution and make sure the Tampnet infrastructure is built according to the engineered standards and specifications
  • Actively participate in Tampnet HSEQ policies and procedures
  • Contribute to a positive work environment in the team / department
  • Participate in emergency response team as necessary
  • Perform other technical tasks within his/her area of expertise
  • Travel as needed


Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from university required; Masters preferred – relevant experience required
  • Experience/Knowledge with LTE networks, Line of Sight (LoS), Fiber Optic Networks & Subsea Fiber Optic Networks and IP/MPLS infrastructure
  • Experience with engineering guidelines for deployments in the GoM, understanding of the ABS, USCG and BSEE requirements in relations to telecoms offshore
  • In-depth knowledge about offshore Oil & Gas companies’ technical requirements to produce documentation and drawing packages
  • Capable of maintaining a high degree of effectiveness in a multitask role, managing priorities and delivering to challenging timescales
  • Ensure that safety risks and business risks associated with engineering activities are assessed and that appropriate checks, controls and precautions are being taken care of
  • Be self-driven and able to work independently, as well as being excellent at teamwork to work in a Global diverse work environment
