Offshore Connectivity Services

Since 2001, our offshore connectivity services have revolutionised offshore operations.

From our first subsea fibre optic cable in the North Sea, we have continued to grow and develop our network, integrating Microwave links,  4G/5G LTE base stations, LEO, MEO and GEO satellite solutions to generate the most extensive and reliable offshore networks in the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America).

Our clients benefit from a suite of services and complete solutions, whether they are fixed structures, mobile rigs or vessels.

From complete point-to-point engineering and construction to last-mile connectivity, our team can create the most reliable fibre connectivity solution for your operations.

Our team is experienced in solving the most challenging fibre connectivity problems, from power limitations seen in offshore hazardous areas to long-distance transmission, we can deploy a range of technologies to ensure our clients benefit from fast, reliable connectivity with the required bandwidth to maintain critical connectivity or run safe, remote operations.

Monitoring solutions can deployed to provide visibility of mechanical interference across fibre networks, further enhancing the reliability of the service.

Our extensive carrier network provides greater international connectivity to the world's most in-demand data centres and interconnection points.  Click here for more details on our Carrier Services

4G/5G LTE
4G/5G LTE

Our 4G and 5G LTE networks are built on Tampnet's extensive subsea network, creating complete onsite and regional coverage for offshore assets and vessels.   We have extended our application of this technology to build greater onsite networks, throughout asset levels to generate private cloud solutions for operational digitalisation initiatives.

This LTE network further expands to create almost complete coverage of offshore fields, ensuring OSV's and other contractors are able to connect and monitor assets, personnel and equipment during maintenance and remediation projects, and ensure the safety of offshore personnel at all times.

Line of sight (LoS)
Line of sight (LoS)

Tampnet's network is built on a strong subsea fibre backbone, however, subsea fibre requires investment.

To ensure newly commissioned platforms and rigs can access our fast and reliable subsea network,  we offer line-of-sight (LoS) connectivity, with fast deployment for assets within range of other connected facilities.

Combining Line-of-Sight connectivity with more advanced solutions such as LEO or MEO, a fully redundant solution can be designed, ensuring all critical communications remain online at all times.

LEO & MEO Satellite
LEO & MEO Satellite

Tampnet has partnered with leading LEO and MEO satellite providers, providing the most advanced and appropriate satellite connectivity for our clients.

Our partnerships include Starlink, SES and Eutelsat OneWeb.

LEO satellites (Low Earth Orbiting) are satellites orbiting closest to our atmosphere. Due to the shorter distance between land and the satellite, these offer the lowest latency satellite connectivity, ideal for global broadband networks and environmental monitoring.

MEO satellites (Medium Earth Orbiting) are satellites positioned at altitudes between 2000 and 35,786 km, just below geostationary orbit. Due to higher altitude than LEO satellites, the latency is slightly higher but compensate by offering higher throughput and less handover to other satellites.

Our network management system with SD-WAN ensures critical data is always prioritised across our technologies, while balancing latency and bandwidth requirements for operational and general data communications.
